KEITH Dalgleish was the man in form at Ayr racecourse on QTS Ladies Night, saddling a double and taking his tally of winners for the year to 61.

Maulesden May landed the QTS Training Handicap over one mile two furlongs in the hands of Graham Lee and was returned at odds of 6-1. The filly was always travelling well and quickened readily inside the final furlong to win by a length and a half from Beauden Barrett.

Half an hour later Inglorious made it two on the night when winning the Gas Sure & James Frew Handicap for the Carluke trainer under a very mature ride from stable apprentice Rowan Scott. Sent off at 8-1 the three year-old was always handily placed and won as he pleased by a length and a half from Lady In Question.

The novice stakes for two year-olds was won by Salazar who led close home to win for jockey Kevin Stott and trainer Kevin Ryan in the colours of Mrs Angie Bailey who also owns last year’s William Hill Ayr Gold Cup winner, Brando.

The opening race, the QTS Women In Engineering Lady Riders’ Handicap for lady riders saw course specialist Remember Rocky win for trainer Lucy Normile and jockey Catherine Walton.

Another horse who loves Ayr is Racquet and he followed up his win at the track last month by winning the six furlong QTS Investors In Sport Handicap under a confident ride from Kevin Stott who was doubling up for the night after his earlier win on Salazar.
