THIS week the members of Ayr Burners Cycling QTS have a new challenge on the cards with the goal being 10% of Tommy.

Tommy Godwin was the record holder for the furthest distance travelled by bicycle in one year - an amazing 75,000 miles in 1939.

The Burners will endeavour to cover 10 per cent of Godwins daily mileage over the course of the next two weeks, with 283 miles required from each Burner to complete the task. Bonus points will be awarded to riders for any extra mileage covered.

On Monday evening round two of the Summer Series sees the Burners take on the Barnweil TT - a two-stage time trial with a qualifying lap followed by a handicapped finale. Henry Cruikshank is the current leader in the Summer Series after his victory in the midweek Marine Drive pursuit race.
