A SUNNY spring weekend was jam packed with activity for the members of Ayr Burners Cycling QTS.

The staple Saturday morning ride from the Burns Centre saw the group enjoy a two-hour spin around the quiet back roads of the Carrick, whilst the three McGarvie Brothers took to the start line at Bellahouston Park for the well-attended youth racing where youngsters aged six to 16 enjoyed the fast-paced fun around the closed road circuit.

On Sunday 'The Burners' took full advantage of the glorious weather and headed for the beautiful island of Arran for a loop of the picturesque cycling mecca.

A steady sun kissed six-miler was completed by the group which included the challenging ascent of The Ross Road which is the highest road on the Island at 869 feet.

In East Ayrshire two members pinned on the numbers for the local South West Regional Road Race which started in Fenwick and took in two loops of the testing Clunch Road circuit.

This Friday The Burners' head to Sanquhar for an Easter adventure along the Southern Upland Way.

The group will take in the Mennock Pass and Green Lowther Hill before heading along the challenging SUW with some stunning scenery guaranteed along the way.
