HARD to believe that it's now less than eight weeks to Christmas with small kids and big kids becoming increasingly excited about the fun times coming their way.

That means it's once again time for Troon Secret Santa, which is being launched tomorrow (Wednesday).

The campaign started four years ago and was the brainchild of Campbell Malone, a New Zealand school teacher originally from Troon.

It is set up through a Facebook group which he runs in conjunction with Troon woman Caroline Cummings.

Each year other Troon people have been involved as volunteers, giving their time and energy to help sort and deliver donated selection boxes and other small gifts to others.

Troon people are encouraged to donate Christmas selection boxes to Troon Secret Santa at donation points around the town. They are also encouraged to write to Troon Secret Santa, via the Facebook page, and nominate children and elderly Troon people who might love a secret gift to be delivered from the festive man of the moment in December.

This has proved to be very popular with hundreds of Christmas gifts given out each Christmas in Troon and people showing great generosity by supporting the very popular campaign.

Campbell and Caroline would like to thank the wonderful people of Troon for their kindness in the past, donating hundreds of Christmas gifts, and look forward to delivering this year’s selection boxes etc. to your children, grandchildren and families throughout December.

It's worth all the effort when you the smiles on the faces of children who receive gifts through the campaign.

Donations to Secret Santa are open from tomorrow and people who would like to help out should log on to the Facebook
