A TALENTED group of Ayrshire riders are celebrating after reaching the final of a national competition for the second year running.

Four teenagers from across the county took part in the Team Quest competition, organised by British Dressage.

Known as the Cookie Monsters, coached by Caroline Paterson and managed by Heather Stewart, the team comprises Hannah Ullrich (15) from Dundonald and her pony Louis; Morven Easton (13) of Troon and Jasmine; Libby Cooper (12) from Troon and her pony TinTin and Niamh Murray (14) from Kilmaurs on her horse ZaZa.

The girls have maintained last year's success, keeping on top of the regional leaderboard and a week past on Saturday, they won the regional heat at Highfield at Howe in Fife with a team personal best score.

The team now qualify for the national finals, which are being held on October 28 and 29 at Bury Farm, Buckinghamshire.

Morven's pony Jasmine has sadly had to retire due to injury but team spirit prevails and Libby has generously shared TinTin allowing the team to continue. Last year they were placed 13th and their hope is to better that this time round as well as having wheelbarrow-loads of fun!
