PEOPLE should dust down their running shoes as the deadline for entries for the Troon 10K is fast approaching.

The 32nd Troon 10k will take place on Wednesday, May 3.

This year the number of entries has increased. Online entries open at 6am next Monday, February 13.

There will be no postal entries or entries on the night.

New or returning runners are welcome to the group's training nights which take place in the Walker Hall Troon 7pm every Tuesday and Thursday, where they have run groups for all abilities.

Meanwhile the Tortoises rounded off the year by holding their Christmas Night Out and Awards Night.

Road Race champions were Matt Pearce and Caroline Miller, while Fraser McPhail and Caroline Mutch were Cross-Country champions and Ewan Walker and Anne Noble won the Grading Championship.

Ultra Champion was David Ruthven and Hill Race Champion was Anne Noble and Robert Gray won the Christmas Handicap. The coveted London Marathon place went to Rob Carroll.

Awards were also given to Liam Convery, Kate McKean and Sharon McNichol.
