SCHOOLS across South Ayrshire took a battering in the storms of January 3 but luckily all were able to open.

Primary and secondary schools from Barassie Primary in the north to Dailly Primary in the south were affected by January's early storm which saw gusts of 84mph recorded at Prestwick Airport.
