Roads will get 'safe' makeover

A MULTI-million pound transport upgrade for Carrick will see parts of the A77 widened.

The planned Burnside scheme will see almost 2.4 miles of road realigned and expanded, between Turnberry and Girvan, and promises to offer more chances for people to overtake.

In total Transport Scotland's project is expected to cost £9million and the plans will go on show next week with South Ayrshire residents asked to give their opinions.
