POLICE saw a driver stagger from a pub to his car after Dutch tourists introduced him to the German herbal liqueur, Jaegermeister.

Kevin Awlright, 50, of Troon then mounted the pavement twice before he was stopped and given a breath test which showed he was over three times the limit.

Awlright's solicitor Glenn Davis told Ayr Sheriff Court last week: "He is normally careful about what he drinks when he has the car but on this occasion he was in the company of Dutch nationals who introduced him to a new drink which was a mixture of Red Bull and Jaegermeister."
