RESIDENTS across South Ayrshire will finally get their say on how their area looks in the future.

A major consultation has been launched by South Ayrshire Council on where developments should and should not take place.

Council chiefs say the feedback will then be used to draw up South Ayrshire's Local Development Plan, which will set out the towns and countryside will be managed over the next 10 to 20 years.

Four community discussions will take place in Ayr Town Hall, Girvan Academy, Maybole Town Hall and Troon Walker Hall from tomorrow. A further Prestwick session is still being arranged.

Chair of the Local Development Plan Project board, Councillor Margaret Toner said: "I cannot stress enough how important it is for the residents of South Ayrshire to get involved in this consultation exercise."
