South Ayrshire's £50,000 bill for Olympic torch visit

SOUTH Ayrshire Council are planning to assist their communities in celebrating the passing of the Olympic Torch when it visits in June.

The council have already set aside a budget of £50,000 to support community activities and events, and today, Tuesday, February 14, the leadership panel are set to be asked to lay aside £14,500 of that budget for community councils in the relevant areas.
