Senior centre shuts

"WE were flogging a dead horse" said the chair of the now closed Seniors Centre in Maybole, who blames lack of interest for the loss of the facility.

The Seeniors Centre, created with an £8,000 grant from ITV1 show 'This Morning' and a £2,000 grant from Age Concern, announced its closure on Wednesday, August 18, following a majority decision at a specially convened meeting to disband the group.
