THE Ayrshire Symphony Orchestra will start the festive season off with a bang when they feature Tchaikovsky’s ever popular 1812 Overture next month.

They will perform their annual concert in Ayr Town Hall on Monday, December 4, with music from the film Polar Express along with plenty of seasonal favourites.

There will be a fun version of Leroy Anderson’s The Typewriter featuring the talented Jean Hillhouse. 

Also in the programme will be the Trevelyan Suite, written by Nigel Don, and Alfven’s Swedish Rhapsody.

Conductor John L Wilson and Leader Kathleen Terras invite school age musicians to bring their instruments and join the Orchestra to play carols. 

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 upstairs and £8 downstairs, and can be obtained at the door, or from Ayr Guitar, 62 Alloway Street, Ayr.

Ayrshire Symphony Orchestra will also perform in Ayr Town Hall on Sunday, December 3 with their special short concert for toddlers and young children and will feature music from Polar Express. 

Sleigh bells will be provided for children to play along to favourite seasonal tunes.

Doors open 4pm for 4.15pm start. All tickets cost £3, and can be obtained at the door, or from Ayr Guitar, 62 Alloway Street, Ayr.
