GIRVAN Youth Trust (GYT) thrift shop will launch their ‘WALT DISNAE’ teddy bear appeal this week for Christmas.

Their theme ‘who disnae like shopping for Christmas’? is designed to encourage those who have an old Disney toy they no longer use to donate it to the thrift shop on Chalmers Arcade.

That way parents who cannot afford a full price Disney toy from the Disney store will be able to buy their child one for Christmas at half price or even less.

Speaking on their Facebook page, Bill Logan, of Girvan Youth Trust, said: “Next week in the Thrift Shop we will be having a WALT DISNAE themed week.

“We are putting out an appeal for any official good quality Disney soft toy, doll, dvd that you may have lying in the back of a cupboard somewhere to be donated to our cause

“For anyone who would like to donate please call Z1 on 01465714729 or pop into our Thrift Shop in Chalmers Arcade between Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Thank you.”

Since opening in 2015, the GYT Thrift Shop has been extremely successful in raising funds for Z1 Youth Project.

All proceeds from the Thrift Shop go directly towards helping and supporting young people in the Girvan community and surrounding areas.

The WALT DISNAE themed week aims to support young people in less well off areas of the community.
