THE SCOTTISH SPCA received a four figure sum from Ayr’s local Marks & Spencer.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity in Ayr received a whopping £5,508.37 and they have been overwhelmed by the generous support of the local community in Ayrshire.

Centre Manager, Marion Hainey, said: “Centre staff and volunteers have been bag packing in our local M&S store over the past year.

“The staff from Marks and Spencer have also been fundraising on our behalf.

“We are so pleased to have been nominated as the branches charity of the year and appreciate all the support they have shown us.

“We would also like to say a special thank you to all M&S customers who showed their support.

“As an animal welfare charity we receive no government or lottery funding so we rely entirely on the support of the public.

“Without these donations we would not be able to continue our vital work rescuing and rehoming abandoned and unwanted animals in Scotland.”
