A FIRST Responders Service is to be introduced in Girvan and South Carrick and there are already suggestions on how it should work.
There have been discussions about the continued issue of Boundary Crossing that sees ambulances crossing into another area and being prioritised for service there instead of Carrick.
Once an ambulance drops a patient off in South Carrick it can be used in Ayr rather than returning to its base in Girvan.
A listening system has also been proposed, where people who suffer isolation and arrange doctors appointments as a form of company could be referred to groups giving them support and structure.
Anyone who had an interest to volunteer as a listener for those suffering from loneliness would receive free training and support to do so.
Plans for First Responders are currently underway with more information to be announced in due course.
