QUEEN Margaret Academy is looking to improve further following a good inspection.

Headteacher Tony Flynn met with councillors at the Leadership Panel (Education) meeting at South Ayrshire Council last Tuesday.

Amongst the meeting was the Director of Educational Services Douglas Hutchison.

He said: “Queen Margaret Academy was the first school to be inspected under new regulations by Education Scotland. Further inspections are to happen within a year of the report being published.”

It was highlighted in the inspection that Queen Margaret Academy were doing quite well but could communicate more with parents and get the attendance of parents nights to increase.

Headteacher Tony Flynn said: “We want to involve parents as much as possible. Sometimes evening events can be a big travel as we take pupils from Troon to Girvan. Hopefully looking to improve interacting with parents electronically.”
