A MAN who kicked the front door and forced entry to his girlfriend's flat was spotted by a neighbour through the spy hole.

Daniel O’Hara, of Murray Street, Ayr admitted shouting, swearing at his partner, demanding entry, to the premises and forcing the door open.

The 22-year-old appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court before Sheriff Mhari Mactaggart last week. The court heard how the couple had been in a relationship for two and a half years.

Depute fiscal Scott Toal said: “One of the neighbours heard the accused shouting at around 1pm. He was shouting let me in let me f***ing in. If you don’t I am going to kick the door down and that he wanted his ‘stuff’.

“They overheard the accused being told to go away. It seems that one of the neighbours was trying to calm her children down and could see what was going on through her spy hole in the door.

“Police officers arrived and the accused was detained and interviewed. His position was that he just wanted his belongings and was concerned that his partner was unwell but had been told by her to go away.”

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor Steven Maxwell, said: “I am told that whatever the courts disposal of this matter is, they will resume their relationship. He had been working down south.

“He had been back and forth. It was an ongoing relationship. Going forward Mr O’Hara

Sheriff Mactaggart deferred sentence for O’Hara to be of good behaviour.
