A MAN was attacked as he made his way out of Madisons night club in Ayr in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is understood that at 1.30am on Sunday, September 25 the 21-year-old was leaving the nightclub which is on Carrick Street, when someone headbutted him to the face causing injury to his mouth.

It is claimed he made his own way to Ayr hospital as a result but did not manage to identify his attacker leaving local officers with very little description of who was involved.

Detective Constable Bill Stokes, of Ayr Police Office, is leading the enquiry and commented "This appears to have been an unprovoked attack on an individual within Madison's nightclub. At this time our enquiries are continuing into this incident and to identify those involved."

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who noticed any suspicious behaviour at that time to get in touch via the non emergency number via 101.

Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
