Couple are one step closer to completing their mega fundraising mission

A GIRVAN couple are aiming to hit the £50,000 mark this year with their eighth annual charity walk.

Elaine and Darren Mitchell started organising their Girvan walk for Scottish charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2005 after Elaine was unsuccessful in getting a place on the London Moonwalk.

So far the couple have raised over £40,000 for charity, well over their initial £10,000 target, with more than 200 people attending each year.
