HISTORIC Scottish dog breeds that are now classed as 'vulnerable species' can still be seen in South Ayrshire.

The Kennel Club's native vulnerable breeds list for 2011 sees 24 breeds such as the English setter, Skye terrier, smooth collie and others listed as vulnerable with less than 300 puppy registrations last year.
