AN animal charity is on the hunt to find a dog's owner after the pet was found alone and suffering from a severe skin condition.

A kind member of the public spotted the male lurcher crossbreed on Wallace Avenue in Troon and handed him in to a local vets surgery on Sunday, January 8.

The 10-year-old dog is microchipped but unfortunately the details have not been kept up-to-date.

Inspector Kerry Kirkpatrick said: "Poor Sandy was in a terrible state when he was found."
