FOUR bands hit high notes in a very good cause at a musical gathering in Prestwick earlier this month.

Memphis R&B Band and a host of other Ayrshire groups met on August 13 at Prestwick Cricket Club to perform in an industry gathering called 'Rock for Resources'.

This event featured seven bands and was open to the public in an effort to raise funds for the Ayrshire Hospice and more than £1000 was made on the day to donate to the charity, who provide vital support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Organiser Ian McAdam was delighted with the turnout on the day as this was a charity that was close to his heart. The Hospice have recently supported a family friend and he recognises the vital work that they are doing for the community.

Other bands who performed were: Vague Reality, Audioclass, R&B, Trunk Monkey and Wildcard.
