A HUGELY popular band from the north of Scotland are set to be a star turn at next month's Live@Troon festival.

Gordon James and the Power have confirmed they will be hitting the Girvans Troon Stage on Friday, September 7, at 11.20pm.

Formed in Speyside, Scotland's whisky capital, the band have quickly garnered a following throughout the north of the country.

Having recently released their debut self-titled EP (2017) and music video for the track "When I First Saw You There" they are pushing further out with plans to tour the UK and Europe in 2018, whilst also releasing their first full album in the year.

Listing broad influences such as The Beatles, City and Colour, Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard, Of Monster Of Men, Jack Johnston and Motorhead, they have carved their own positive and melody driven sound in the indie/rock/acoustic genres.

From Ullapool to Liverpool and even over to Norway, they have made a lasting impression showcasing their heartfelt live performance which creates a sound larger than the sum of its parts. They have reached number three in the Scottish new music global chart monthly.
