MAIDENS Gala Day had an excellent turnout despite the atrocious weather.
Held on Saturday, July 28, the annual event that is run by a group of volunteers, saw a ‘really good turnout’ with the children taking part in a fancydress parade, with other stalls including, a tombola and the RNLI.
The two mermaids, Luci and Eva were carried by the coastguard with piper Ross leading the way.
Sandra Thomson, who organises the event, said: “The weather was atrocious, but we had a really good day and it was a really good turnout.
“It is run by me and a group of friends and we’ve raised enough money from the event to cover the fireworks and bonfire night that we’ll be having in October.”
