ROTARY Club of Girvan held their annual Putting Competition.
Each year and for well over 10 years the Rotary Club of Girvan has held a putting competition at Brunston Golf Club. The competition was started by the late Mr. David Muir who was an honorary member of Brunston Golf Club and a well respected Girvan golfer and Rotary member.
The competition includes Rotarians and their wives and a few invited guests who, this year, included Dorothy Muir and Irene Webber.
This year, as in previous years, the competition was organised by Mr Tom Paterson, a well know Turnberry golf man.
The competition was a ‘pairs’ event, and of 18 holes in length. The best golfers were paired with non golfers, then the presentations were made over dinner in the clubhouse .
The views from the putting course were spectacular, the weather was super, the 12 teams who took part had a very competitive competition.
And by the end of the competition the results were as follows-
Second place - Dr. Jim Anderson and Mrs Linda HendersonWhilst the winners were - Mr. Bill McDowell and Mrs Margaret McDowell
