AN APPLICATION will be submitted to the Coastal Communities Fund in a bid to repair Girvan’s Bandstand.
The bandstand was due to get a makeover costing £300,000 in 2008 to remove the graffiti on the outside walls and rotten floors, walls and roof.
But 10 years on it still needs to be repaired. A fresh plea to repair the iconic structure was issued last year from Girvan Town Team and now South Ayrshire Council have put together an application to renovate it.
Roddy MacDonald Girvan Town Team Coordinator previously told the group the bandstand ‘would require a significant amount of funds’.
The Coastal Communities Fund has £40 million available for spend from 2019 to March 2021, to projects helping regeneration and economic growth.
