A REPORT highlighting plans to preserve Maybole will be published and taken to public consultation.

A draft Conservation Area Management Plan (CAMP) for the town outlines the process to consider CAMP when planning applications are submitted within the Maybole Conservation Area.

It comes have concerns were expressed by the public about the poor physical condition of the buildings and general environment of the High Street, during a town-wide Charrette held in Maybole, in 2015.

Townscape Heritage Initiative and Conservation Area Regeneration Schemes were identified as positive outcomes that would help regenerate the town centre making it more attractive to live in and visit.

This was addressed at the Leadership Panel last week.

Cllr William Grant said: “There is a tremendous amount of work being carried out in Maybole.

“This adds to that and I totally commend this report.”

Cllr Peter Henderson added: “It is clear that when the Bypass is finished there will be loads of money invested in Maybole and return it to a vibrant community rather than lorries and more lorries.”
