Goody2Shoes is the latest local business to sign up its shop in Ayr, to NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s public , Breastfeed happily here initiative.
The campaign is a way of making sure that employees in local businesses are aware of The Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005, which means that it is illegal to stop a mother feeding her baby breast or formula milk in premises where the public has general access.
Pauline Cassidy, Manager of Goody2Shoes Ayr, said: “We are happy to help get the message out there to our staff and customers that it’s perfectly normal for women to breastfeed in public and in our shop.”
