COLMONELL Fun Week began on Sunday with the Boars Head Shield tug-o-war heats at the Boars Head Hotel. 

Teams of four men/women took part and £100 was awarded to the winning team. 

On Monday, June 4 the first rounds of the football tournament were held at the play park from at 7.30pm. The tournaments will continue on Tuesday, June 5. 

On Wednesday, June 6 the quiz night at Colmonell Village Hall, hosted by H O’Hare will start at 7.30pm. Teams of four (over 16’s) can compete for the top prize of £100. 

On Thursday, June 7 Sand Art in Colmonell Village Hall runs from 6pm and from 7.30pm is the semi-finals of the football tournament in the play park. 

On Friday, June 8 the Clay Pigeon Shoot organised by Knockdolian Gun Club starts at 6pm. At The Glebe and also on at 6pm in the village hall is the Children’s disco. 

Saturday, June 9 is the Fun Day itself, starting at 1pm where Princess for 2018, Kaiyah Hopkins, will be crowned.

Entertainment includes music from the Stinchar Valley Pipers, pirate ship shooter bouncy castle and rodeo bull, Roadrunner Children’s Entertainment and mascots, Bunny Luv petting zoo, face painting, tattoos, helium balloons, burger van and ice creams, a visit from Colmonell Fire Brigade and a selection of stalls with toys, crafts, bottle stall, home baking and much more.

This will be followed by a karaoke night at the Boars Head Hotel, starting at 7.30pm.

The final of the football tournament will be played on Sunday, June 10 at 1.30pm in the playpark and will be followed by the Boars Head Shield Tug-o-war final. 

The Fun Week finishes with a bingo night in the school to raise funds for Colmonell Primary School, eyes down at 7pm.
