A MAN, who drove without a licence or insurance, on the A77, has been tagged.
Daniel McCreadie, of Drumcoyle Drive, Coylton was found driving on the southbound carriageway near Whitletts Roundabout in March.
The 29-year-old appeared before Sheriff Carole Cunninghame at Ayr Sheriff Court last week. The court heard how police officers were on patrol when the observed a Volkswagen Polo driving East.
Depute Fiscal, Lindsay Bain, said: "They had cause to stop the vehicle. It was revealed that the accused was driving while disqualified and had no policy of insurance.
"McCreadie was informed he was being taken to Ayr Police Station."
Speaking on his behalf defence solicitor Peter Lockhart said: "This was his parents car. He took the car to get some bread and milk and was stopped by police."
McCreadie has been placed on a restriction of liberty order for four months from 8pm - 8am. His licence has been endorsed.
