THE team at FreshAyr has been working with Newton Primary School in a project designed to bring communities together.

The children have been creating their own vision for their future and discussing ways on how to improve Ayr as a place to live and visit as well as the rest of South Ayrshire.

Robert Singer of FreshAyr said: “We are working with a small group of children at Newton Primary School in South Ayrshire in a project that aims to encourage the children to explore ways that art can bring communities together and help to alleviate poverty.

“The children were asked: ‘what would make your area a better place to live in’.

“The aim is to inspire the children to investigate social problems creatively and develop an artwork that is inspired by social engagement that creates an outcome communicating the importance of art.”

The Spar Craigie Store have made a donation towards the project which will be presented to the school this week.
