FOLLOWING on from last year’s roaring success - 9 to 5, Ayr Amateur Opera Company will board the Summer Holiday bus and head to The Gaiety.

In 1963 Cliff Richard and the Shadows took off on a joyous jaunt across Europe in a Routemaster bus in the film Summer Holiday.

The film is now a feel-good stage musical where Don and his fellow London Transport bus mechanics journey through Paris, the Alps, Italy and then Greece.

Along the way they pick up three young girls in a clapped-out Morris Minor and a young American pop star on the run from her domineering mother.

The hit-filled score features - In the Country, Summer Holiday, I Could Easily Fall in Love with You, Bachelor Boy, Living Doll, The Young Ones and On the Beach.

A real taste of Great British nostalgia to a score you will already know and love.

The cast have already been on their own road trip to Forfar to try on some of the vintage costumes they’ll be sporting in the production, and had a fantastic day going back in time to the Swinging Sixties with mini skirts for the girls… and mechanic’s overalls for the boys.

Do You Wanna Dance? Then head to The Gaiety Theatre Monday, February 26 to Saturday, March 3 with a matinee performance on March 3.

Tickets are available from The Gaiety box office, over the phone (01292288235) or online (www.thegaiety.co.uk).
