MUSIC on the Prom Girvan came had a spectacular finale this weekend.

Hotel Caledonia, Scotland's very own Eagle's tribute band, ended the event on a high. Music started at 1pm with Hotel Caledonia performing from 3pm-4pm.

There have been many bands and artists taking to the stage at the prom over the summer. Every Sunday hundreds have flocked to the town to enjoy the atmosphere.

Organiser Bill Logan, of Girvan Youth Trust, said: "Men of Motown was simply awesome, with loads of positive feedback from local members of public and visitors both, on the day and on facebook.

"As one person commented 'Girvan Now Has Soul'.

"Having now hosted this event for six years we continue to be amazed at the regular visitors and supporters that we continue to attract from all over the UK and abroad.

"Music on the Prom and our six week children's entertainment programme has certainly put Girvan back on the map as the perfect destination for 'A Day at the Seaside, A Lifelong Memory'.

"This Sunday is our grand finale for this year's 11 week ' Music on the Prom 'programme and as such Girvan Youth Trust would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their ongoing and valued physical and financial support for this unique and hopefully enjoyable attraction.

"We would also like to thank Girvan Co-operative, North Parish Church Congregation, Nestle Girvan Community Group, Girvan Primary Parent Council, Glendoune Community Association and Graziano's Harbour Café for sponsoring this year's summer programme.

"Our final band was Hotel Caledonia, Scotland's very own Eagle's tribute band, which allowed the event to finish on an extreme high."
