Concerns have been expressed that Virgin Media's work across Ayr is likely to 'break up'.
The company have been working in the area since the beginning of the year to carry out repairs on their service.
But there are concerns that the tarmac they have laid will break up. The issues was discussed at a recent Alloway and Doonfoot community council meeting.
Cllr Martin Dowey, explained: "Virgin Media do not need planning permission which is why they can dig up our roads.
"In my opinion the tar they have laid will break up but it is the Ayrshire Roads Alliance who will be held responsible for any damage as it will be too hard to get in touch with Virgin Media."
