A MAN bought a group of under-agers four different types of alcohol.
Lee Hill, of Welltress Street, Maybole, was seen giving a 14-year-old drink for him and his friends on December 30, 2016, at the Drinks Cellar in Ayr.
The 40-year-old appeared before Sheriff John Montgomery at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.
Procurator Fiscal, Scott Toal, said: "The police were at Drinks Cellar and observed a group of youths that were there.
"The accused walked by and a 14-year-old ask him to buy him drink and gave him the money.
"The accused bought them Buckfast, cider, Dragon Soop and wine.
"The police seen the accused and ask him if it was for him and he said it was.
"They then saw him give the alcohol to the youths and the police approached.
"The youths dropped the alcohol and ran away."
Speaking on his clients behalf, defence solicitor Steven Maxwell, said:
"My client thought he was doing a good service but he is now aware of what he has done.
"There are no matters outstanding so what I would ask your Lordship to give a fine and my client is in a position to pay £10 per week."
Hill was ordered to pay a fine of £200 at £10 per week.
