GIRVAN Town Team’s shop front project, has been included in South Ayrshire’s Ambition Programme.
The group hope to be awarded the maximum £500 grant which will help improve the appearance of shop fronts in the town both occupied and vacant.
Funding is part of South Ayrshire Council’s enterprise and employment programme. Work can include preparation, including minor repairs and painting of shop windows, and frontages, painting of shop entrances, sign writing, repair or replacement of signage boards and signage lighting and shop window graphics.
Proposed shop-front improvement or advertisement may need formal consent from the council and the planning authority.
It is also likely that stores will have some heritage interest, either because the property is listed, and/or because it is located within a conservation area.
Landlords, tenants with responsibility for repairs and maintenance, and owner occupiers who are either sole traders or small to medium sized enterprises are eligible to apply.
