TWO men have been charged in connection with the vandalism at Belleisle House at the beginning of the year.

It is claimed that a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were involved in causing the damage at the hotel on Ayr’s Doonfoot Road in January.

They have now been reported to the procurator fiscal following the alleged incident.

PC Steven Gilmour, of Ayr Police Office, commented: “Extensive damage was caused to the building during this incident.

“The hotel is in an area popular with dog walkers and we would like to thank members of the public for their assistance with the enquiry.

“Two young people have now been reported to the procurator fiscal for their alleged involvement in the incident.

“I would encourage anyone concerned about crime and antisocial behaviour in their community to contact their local policing team.”
