RUMOURS that The Balgarth Pines in Ayr were to launch a brand new disco night on Fridays from 10pm until 2pm.
The restaurant had previously posted on their facebook page asking customers if they would be interested in the weekly event and received positive feedback.
Had the management team decided to take the idea forward they would have had to submit an application to South Ayrshire Council Licensing board before the disco could begin.
But Martin Ward, managing director, said they would not be continuing with the idea despite the positive feedback.
He said: "We are not going to take this forward. We had asked the question on our facebook page and the general response was great.
"But this is an Ayrshire Rumour which is circling and is a pile of rubbish.
