AYRSHIRE Ark in Patna has been criticised for allowing dogs to live in dire conditions surrounded by excrement and rubbish.

Poor pooches have been subjected to these conditions despite the owner setting up on online ‘go fund me’ account claiming that the money wound fund care for the pets.

Zara Prentice Brown said online: “We are raising funds to help with the weekly care of the dogs and to help us help more. We also hope to put more facilities up to enable us to help more.”

But recent images in the media have contradicted this and there are now calls to close the centre for good.

The dogs were forced to live in their own faeces while the floors are littered with debris and machinery has been dumped at the spot where kids once hung their coats on pegs before lessons.

A source told the Ayr Advertiser: “People have been working for years to prove this was going on. I feel the dead dogs and ripped off people who have gave her money, deserve justice.

“The Ayrshire Ark missing dogs page on Facebook shows all the dogs missing or feared dead.”

The page to try and search for the neglected animals was set up last months. Photos of missing pets are posted online on a daily basis.

A Scottish SPCA inspector said: “We recently attended an address in East Ayrshire and our investigations are ongoing at this time.”

It is understood inquiries are ongoing at this time.
