THE man who died in a fatal road crash on the A77 on Sunday night has been named as Lee Gilchrist from Ayr.
The incident happened just after 11:20pm on Sunday, October 16. The 31-year-old was also accompanied by a dog in the car as it collided with a tree as he was then trapped in the vehicle.
When emergency services arrived at the scene the man was unresponsive in his vehicle.
According to reports, the individual was subject to CPR while waiting on the arrival of an ambulance however it is was announced Mr. Gilchrist later died on Monday morning after being taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
The dog was handed over to Police Scotland.
Mr. Gilchrist (pictured middle), leaves behind two children, Lewis, 11 and Emilee, 6.
Enquiries into establishing the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
