THE MAN who died in a road smash on Blairston Mains Farm on the back road from Ayr to Maybole has been officially named as Kai Milligan.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident which took place on Ayr's B7024 on Sundat, July 24 at 4.45pm.

A 19 year-old woman, locally named as Natasha Scott, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa car near to Blairston Mains. It appears that the vehicle lost control and left the road.

A 15 year-old boy was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock then later transferred to the Royal Hospital for sick children in Glasgow where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

The 19 year-old driver, and a 17 year-old female passenger were taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital where they were both released after treatment for minor injuries.

Sergeant Andy Johnston of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine is appealing for information.

He said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash, and I would ask anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the car involved on the B7024 before the incident to contact our office.

“Anyone with information that may assist our investigation should contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Irvine through the 101 number."
