A PRESTWICK man faces jail after he admitted neglecting his son.

The 35-year old appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week where he admitted to failing to properly look after his 11-year old son.

On June 16 last year he was charged with wilfully neglecting the child which was likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury.

He was charged with failing to send the child to school, leaving him home alone, failing to provide enough food for the boy, failing to give him clean clothes, not providing adequate accommodation. There was also dog poo within the home as well as around the garden.

He was also charged with failing to provide the child with a clean home and left drugs within easy reach.

He also admitted to a second charge of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

He committed this whilst already out on bail for a separate matter.
Sheriff John Montgomery deferred sentencing until later this month.
