A TEENAGER admitted assaulting her ex-boy friend by pushing him to the ground, repeatedly kicking him on the body and punching him on the head.

Gabrielle McEwan, of Linden Avenue, Girvan pleaded guilty to the offence which took place on March 16 earlier this year.

The 18-year-old appeared before Sheriff John Montgomery last Tuesday, May 3. The court heard that McEwan had been in a relationship with the complainer for 12 months.

But on March 16 she observed him in Wellington Square in Ayr. At this time they had recently split. McEwan got upset and angry about this and made her way towards him and told him 'I'm f***cking raging.

Her ex left but she followed him towards the Esplanade near Pirate Petes where she pushed him to the ground. She began kicking him to the body.

Two witnesses managed to pull her off her victim and she left. Paramedics attended the scene and the teenage boy had no injuries.

Speaking on her behalf defence solicitor Peter Lockhart said: "She is 18-years-old and lives with her mother. She is in education at Ayr College which has caused some difficulty."

Sheriff Montgomery addressed the teenager: "Very well. You are a first offender and it is clear you were upset but this is no way to deal with it.

"I will revoke the bail order from Ayr College, do you understand?"

She replied 'no'.

Sheriff Montgomery continued: "Mr Lockhart, away and explain to your client what I have just said.

Montgomery deferred sentence for the accused to be of good behaviour.
