WOODLANDS Bay Hotel in Girvan will undergo some major developments in the coming months including a name change.

Proposals for the site which will be renamed Woodlands Farm Hotel and Restaurant will see a capacity increase to 360 people for the bar, coffee house and function suit.

Members of the licensing board at South Ayrshire Council confirmed plans to allow food and non-alcoholic beverages to be served on site from 7am although there was some confusion as to whether this would include alcohol.

Cllr Allan Dorans, questioned: “Why is alcohol needed from 7am?”
The board heard that it had been requested to provide teas and coffees from this time but not alcohol.

Cllr Peter Convery added: “I need more clarity about the bar and function suit commencing from 7am.”

He was told the hotel had requested a change which the license would reflect. The bar and other areas of the hotel would open from 7am but not sell alcohol before 11am.

The board agreed the terms of the license.

Woodlands Farm Hotel and Restaurant will now allow children and young people access at all times provided they are accompanied by an adult.
