Couple's assault rap
A COUPLE have been accused of assaulting a man and a woman at Martha Dickies Bar on Ayr's Smith Street at the weekend.
It is claimed that the assault took place at 11pm on Saturday, April 23 and involved 41-year-old male and a 40-year-old female.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that the man was charged with assaulting a 68-year-old man by kneeing him to the body as well as breach of the peace.
The woman was charged with assaulting a member of staff by grabbing them by the hair before pulling them to the ground. She has also been charged with breach of the peace.
Both have been charged with shouting and swearing before being released on undertaking. They are due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court at a later date.
