MAYBOLE'S Carrick Sports Club will no longer be 'members only' and allow anyone who wants to, enter the venue.

The club's 'on sale' licensing hours will also change which means customers will be able to buy alcohol from 10am until 12am from Monday-Thursday, 11am until 1am on Fridays, noon until midnight on Saturdays and 11am until midnight on a Sunday.

'Off sales' will run from 11am until 10pm daily which was approved at a South Ayrshire Council licensing board meeting last Thursday, April 21.

Since the issues was last discussed members of the board have visited the club and assess it where they found the ground floor of the premise is used as a coffee shop with the alcohol cabinet screened off, with one councillor commenting they barely noticed it was there.

Cllr Peter Convery said: "I think it was very advantageous that we did get to go and see the club. It gave us a positive overview of the club. I have no problems."

Cllr Mary Kilpatrick added: "I would just like to wish them every success and good luck as a lot of work has been put into it."

Chairwoman Cllr Ann Galbraith concluded: "It will be a social proposal for Maybole as well as an economic one. I wish you every success."
