A MAN from Annbank who moved to Mossblown when he was two has penned a TV comedy.
'Up the Doon' captures Andrew Neil's background and family history. His grandfathers - Robert Logan and Andrew Neil - were coal miners as was his father also called Andrew Neil.
When Andrew Neil junior was nine, his family moved to Patna. His father moved from Mossblown to Pennyvenie colliery where he spent the rest of his working life. His parents spent the rest of their lives in Patna.
At the age of 22, Andrew went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London to train as an actor and now lives in London directing, acting and writing.
He has played Edward Cooper in River City for 22 episodes, the father of Will Cooper the policeman.
He has also starred on YouTube in a 34-minute film called 'The Old Man and the Hairdresser' filmed in London and Ayr.
The comedy features two retired miners and is set in Patna. It is available from Amazon for £7.00.
