AN Ayr man has been handed a fine after a drunken rampage following a Boxing Day party.

David Anderson, 25, of Dunlop Terrace, Ayr had been at a party with his partner on December 26.

The couple returned to their home at around 1am when Anderson suddenly flew into a fit of rage. Drunken Anderson became irate and began shouting.

As he tried to enter the kitchen his partner held the door shut, denying him entry. He then tried to get in to the kitchen and punched the door.

A few minutes later Anderson’s partner could hear items being smashed in the living room. Anderson smashed the living room table with a chair and then headbutted the table. He then smashed the TV.

Anderson then went out in to the street where neighbours heard a disturbance. One neighbour asked if the accused was ok and he then threw something at a car, smashing the rear window, causing £80 worth of damage.

Defending, Gregor Forbes noted that “he fully accepts his actions” and that “there’s clearly no explanations for his actions”.
Sheriff John Montgomery said: “I note from the report that you haven’t taken a drop of drink since the incident. That’s wise because clearly it doesn’t agree with you.”

Anderson was fined £400.
