POLICE have released an e-fit image to try and trace two thugs who assaulted a man, near the entrance to Craigie Park, last summer.

Around 11.55am on June 15, 2015 a 19-year-old man was walking near the park close to Fotheringham Road, Ayr when he was approached and attacked by two other males who demanded property from him. 

The men made off empty handed in the direction of Fotheringham Road.

The first culprit is described as white, between 16-19 years of age, 5 ft 11 inches, spoke with a local accent, had spiked bright red hair, wearing a black "Stone Island"  round neck jumper with long sleeves and dark jogging bottoms.

The other is also thought to be white, a similar age, approximately 6ft, had a local accent and was wearing a black and white bandana over his hair at the time. The pattern was similar to a table cloth.

He was also wearing a black round neck "Stone Island" jumper, a yellow tag on his sleeve and dark jogging bottoms.

Detective Constable Allan Robertson, who is dealing with this enquiry, said:"We have been carrying out significant enquiries to trace those two men responsible. As a result of these enquiries, we've been able to create an e-fit of a man who we wish to trace in connection with this incident, as he may have information which could be important to the investigation."
